USAGE AND BENEFITS

Our Modified Atmosphere Packaging Pouches, also known as MAP packaging pouches or gas flushing packaging pouches, are designed for commercial food production environments where product freshness, shelf life and presentation matter.
Suitable for use with Gas Flushing, CVP, and Modified Atmosphere Packing, MAP, type machines, these high-barrier pouches help support the MAP process by allowing the air inside the pack to be replaced with a carefully selected gas mixture, commonly including gases such as nitrogen or carbon dioxide.

This process helps control oxygen levels inside the pack, slowing oxidation reactions and reducing the growth of aerobic organisms. When used with the correct product, gas mix, machinery and storage conditions, modified atmosphere packaging can help extend food shelf life, reduce spoilage and waste, improve production yield and support longer distribution cycles.

Our Modified Atmosphere Packaging Pouches are available in:
Three thicknesses: 50 micron, 65 micron and 90 micron
Three colour options: Clear, Blue Tint and Purple Tint
A wide range of convenient and popular sizes
Suitable options for meat, fish, cheese, prepared foods and other commercial food packaging applications
The 50 micron option is ideal for lighter-duty gas flushing and MAP packaging applications where flexibility, ease of handling, and clear product presentation are important.

The 65 micron option provides a stronger all-round pouch, offering improved durability and barrier performance for everyday commercial food production.

The 90 micron option is best suited to products that require extra protection, higher puncture resistance and a more robust pack feel, including heavier items or products that need added support during handling, storage and distribution.

A wide range of applications

Product Description

Modified Atmosphere Packaging is a food preservation technique in which the normal air surrounding the food inside the pack is replaced. In many applications, oxygen is reduced and replaced with a protective gas mixture, such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide or another approved food-grade gas blend suited to the product being packed.
By controlling the atmosphere inside the pouch, MAP packaging can help slow the processes that lead to spoilage, including oxidation and the growth of aerobic organisms. This makes it a valuable packaging method for food manufacturers, processors, butchers, fish suppliers, cheese producers, bakeries, ready-meal producers, and commercial kitchens.

Our MAP pouches are designed for use with compatible gas-flushing vacuum sealers, chamber machines, and snorkel-type packing systems. They provide the barrier performance needed to maintain the modified atmosphere inside the pack, supporting product freshness, quality, and appearance throughout storage, handling, and distribution.

Available in 50, 65 and 90 micron thicknesses, these pouches allow you to choose the right level of protection for your product. The 50 micron option offers a lightweight and flexible solution for general packing, the 65 micron option provides improved durability and oxygen barrier performance, while the 90 micron option offers increased puncture resistance and a more robust pack feel.

Colour options include clear, blue tint and purple tint, giving you flexibility for product presentation, stock control, batch identification or colour-coded packing processes.
